Earthquake

Well, the kids have survived their first earthquake. I hate earthquakes, they scare me, but I knew that if I freaked out, then the kids would freak out as well. Thankfully it wasn't a very big quake, but we were close enough to the epicenter to get rattled pretty good. Curtis was more interested in the rumble noise that quakes make then the actual shaking. It was very interesting trying to explain to a 3 year old what causes earthquakes. He is now fascinated by the fact that earthquakes help to create the mountains. Other than that our lives are pretty boring right now. Lauren's teeth are coming in beautifully now. She is still waking at night from the pain, but we are dealing with it. She loves to climb the stairs and she is really good at it too! She scares me when she does it. We are now gearing up for birthday parties. I will post pictures of Curtis' invitations that I made soon. I can't wait for his party, it is going to be so fun. Well, that's all I have for now. May God's blessings pour out upon you all.

Tired

Lauren has four teeth coming in right now and she isn't handling it very well. I can't say that I blame her, I wouldn't feel too good either if I had four teeth coming in at once. The last few nights, she has been waking up throughout the night because of the pain. She has been so fussy and clingy, it's starting to wear on me. I just want these teeth to come in so I can get some rest. "This to shall pass" is what I keep telling myself, but it's not happening fast enough for me! Curtis is doing better with the potty training, but he refuses to let me know when he has to go. I just don't understand why boys have to be so stubborn. He tells me that he wants to be a big boy, but he is just holding on to that last little bit of babyhood. Hopefully he will be potty trained by the time Lauren starts!
Kevin and I had a wonderful anniversary lunch yesterday, alone! We haven't had a meal alone since Lauren was born. It's so nice to have adult conversations with my husband and no interruptions! I keep telling Kevin that we need to have date nights, but it hasn't happened yet. Someday...

Six Years

I can't believe that Kevin and I have been married for six years. The time has gone by very quickly, but it also seems like we've been together forever. I was showing Curtis our wedding video yesterday and I had to laugh at how young and naive we looked. I was also thinking how I will never look like that again! Curtis kept asking where he was at and he didn't understand that he was just dust under the bed. We have come so far since that day and I'm very thankful that I get to spend the rest of my life with a really great guy. We also make really cute kids (with the Lord's help). I can't believe that we have two beautiful children (who are going to have birthdays next month). Time sure does have a way of just sneaking right by us. Lauren is now pulling herself up on everything and walking around the coffee table. My baby is making her way into toddlerhood.

And The Winner Is...

We had a wonderful time at the fair on Saturday. We got there before it opened, since we wanted to beat the crowds. The kids had fun, although it took Curtis awhile to warm up to the animals. Myra's blanket didn't place, but she did recieve Honorable Mention. I'm so happy for her as it took one month to cross stitch each princess, then another month-and-a-half to put the rest of it together. I really appreciate the work that she put into it and I know that Lauren will enjoy the blanket when she gets older. I'm almost too scared to use the blanket once we get it because it's soo beautiful. If Lauren had her own room, I would probably hang it on the wall. Congratulations Myra!! We can't wait to get the blanket.

Kryptonite

The kids and I are sick again. This is the second time in a month that we have been sick. I've never been sick this many times before. I hate being sick. I feel like I've been hit with a block of kryptonite and all of my supermommy powers have disappeared. The only positive is that the kids are lying around too, so I can veg on the couch with them. I am hoping that we will be better by Saturday so that we can go to the fair. My best friend entered the quilt that she made Lauren in the fair and we are going to see how it did. I will post pictures of it next week (hopefully with a ribbon).

Hair

Well, there it is. One of the reasons I wanted a girl. Doesn't it look cute!?! I've been waiting to put her hair in a little ponytail. I was so excited when she was born with hair, then sad when it all fell out. Even though the clip stayed in for two minutes, I was on cloud nine all day. Now I know how my mom felt when she couldn't put my hair up until I was almost two. I'm hoping to be able to put her hair up for her birthday, so we'll see.
